Camps (for youth)

After-School Program

• Registration is at the Waynesville Recreation Center's front desk for children K-8 starting Aug 4th, 2025.
• Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. 3:00 - 3:30 arrival, 3:30 - 4:00 snack time, 4:00 - 5:00 homework heroes and educational games, 5:00 - 6:00 gym/play time, and more.
• Costs: Residents: $55 per week ($10 additional child), Non-residents: $60 per week ($10 additional child).

Summer Basecamp

• Camp is starting Monday, June 8th, at 8 am! This camp provides children with an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, create hands-on arts and crafts, make meaningful friendships, and explore the beautiful mountainous region of WNC. Limited spots are available. Rising PreK-8th Graders are welcome.
• Camp runs Monday-Friday, 8 am - 6 pm. Resident Rate: $175/week for the first child & $90 per additional child | Non-Resident: $190/week for the first child & $100 per additional child | Daily Rate (2 days max per week): $60 per day per child.
• Summer Basecamp Signups start Saturday, March 14th, at 6 am - 11 am at the Waynesville Recreation Center Front Desk. Rolling registration occurs afterwards. Payment must be in full with completed packets upon registration.

Impending Weather Camps

• For more information regarding snow day camps, teacher work day camps, and other camp opportunities, please visit our Facebook page for immediate updates.
• We want to provide as many opportunities to families, community members, and children as possible, but if the weather is too risky for families, staff, and community members, camps will not occur on these days.
• We are always open to feedback, recommendations, and community involvement, so please reach out if you would like to get involved!

Morning Childcare

• This program is offered Monday-Friday, 8 am - 11 am. This provides children with an opportunity to enjoy fun crafts, play interactive games, and let their imagination grow in a safe, monitored space. Parents must remain on-site. Daily drop-ins are welcome. Resident Rate: FREE | Non-Resident: $10 per visit per child
• Ages for the program: 6 months old - 8 years old
