The Town of Waynesville

The Town of Waynesville is a great place to visit in any season. Whether one is looking to explore the mountains during our mild summers, gaze at the natural splendor of fall leaf changes, or view snow covered mountains during the winter, the town offers such vacationing for any preference. With our proximity to the natural wonders of The Great Smokey Mountains National Park, as well as, the famous Blue Ridge Parkway the Town is truly a place of recreational opportunity.

Proposed FY 2021-2022 Budget

The Town of Waynesville is currently reviewing a proposed budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year and accepting public comment. This proposed budget can be viewed HERE. The Board of Aldermen will hold a Budget Workshop at 10:00 am on June 3 in the Municipal Building located at 16 S. Main Street.

Task Force on Homelessness Survey

Dear Friends and Colleagues, 

Our team wants to hear from community members for our study, Town of Waynesville Task Force on Homelessness Needs Assessment. Our project has received approval from Western Carolina University’s IRB [1703021-1]. We are respectfully requesting your help in sharing our research invitation with anyone you know who is: 

  • living in Waynesville/Haywood County, NC, and
  • is at least 18 years old.

The purpose of this study is to help us understand and respond to homelessness in the Town of Waynesville. Our findings will be used to prioritize housing program and resource supports, strengthen service delivery, and inform public policy.

IRB has approved our sharing of this information through email and social media (per protocol #1703021-1). To maintain confidentiality and privacy, please do not respond to this post or share any identifying information on social media.
