Environmental Action Community of WNC (EAC) and Energy Savers Network (ESN) Partner to Make Haywood Homes Energy Efficient

Toward the end of 2025, a new partnership on energy efficiency was launched between EAC and ESN. EAC is a Haywood County based nonprofit that works to protect our WNC mountains by promoting clean & efficient energy, reducing plastics & waste and providing opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Since their founding in 2023, they have cleaned up over 5,000 pounds of trash, avoided the use of over 450,000 plastic bags, assisted Waynesville to establish the ESB and held over 250 events for the community. ESN, based in Asheville, is an experienced and effective nonprofit whose mission is to reduce energy costs for low-income households in WNC. They have helped over 1400 lower-income families save money and improve their living conditions. The partnership kicked off in October with the first home renovation in Waynesville. Residents can own or rent, but must be a Duke electrical customer. If you are interested in signing up for the program click here or if you would like to volunteer on a future workday, email Kipp Sutton ksutton.eac@gmail.com
