The Town of Waynesville is a great place to visit in any season. Whether one is looking to explore the mountains during our mild summers, gaze at the natural splendor of fall leaf changes, or view snow covered mountains during the winter, the town offers such vacationing for any preference. With our proximity to the natural wonders of The Great Smokey Mountains National Park, as well as, the famous Blue Ridge Parkway the Town is truly a place of recreational opportunity.
The Town of Waynesville is currently reviewing a proposed budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year and accepting public comment. This proposed budget can be viewed HERE. The Board of Aldermen will hold a Budget Workshop at 10:00 am on June 3 in the Municipal Building located at 16 S. Main Street.
The Town of Waynesville is accepting Requests for Proposals from non-profit agencies to enter into a contract to administer and manage the projects, programs, and services within the Town of Waynesville's Downtown Municipal Service District.
The Town of Waynesville has established a Municipal Service District (MSD) as an overlay of the majority of its Central Business District. Pursuant to State of north Carolina Statute 160A Article 23, the Town may collect an additional property tax within this district with proceeds being used exclusively on projects, programs, and additional services within the MSD. Our team wants to hear from community members for our study, Town of Waynesville Task Force on Homelessness Needs Assessment. Our project has received approval from Western Carolina University’s IRB [1703021-1]. We are respectfully requesting your help in sharing our research invitation with anyone you know who is:

- is at least 18 years old.
The purpose of this study is to help us understand and respond to homelessness in the Town of Waynesville. Our findings will be used to prioritize housing program and resource supports, strengthen service delivery, and inform public policy.
