WAYNESVILLE, NC- Water service has been restored to Waynesville residents and customers. At this time, residents do not have to take extra steps to conserve water.
Water Treatment Plant staff have taken bacteriological samples of the water to test for any organisms or bacteria. These tests take 24 hours to get results. Therefore, a Boil Water Advisory is still in effect. Consumers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any organisms that may be present in the water.
The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued.
Updates will be posted to www.waynesvillenc.gov, the Town of Waynesville Facebook page, and through Town and County text Alerts.
