WAYNESVILLE, NC-  At 6:57 this morning, a 12 inch main water line broke, causing over half of the Town’s water tank storage to drain.  Please be advised that Camp Branch Road from Browning Road and Allens Creek Road remains closed while staff make repairs to the water line.

Staff reacted quickly and have isolated the leak.  The water storage tank is currently being refilled.  Once filled, water pressure will be restored.  In order for the tank to fill as fast as possible, we ask that residents conserve water for essential use, or use bottled water, for the next 48 hours, or until the Town sends a notice stating otherwise.

Remember, a Boil Water Advisory is still in effect.  When water service is restored, consumers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any organisms that may be present in the water.

Water customers are strongly urged to conserve water whenever possible. This Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued.

Updates will be posted to www.waynesvillenc.gov, the Town of Waynesville Facebook page, and through Town and County text Alerts.
