The Waynesville Recreation Center is excited to announce that registration for Summer Basecamp 2026 will take place on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Recreation Center.
New for 2026, Town of Waynesville residents and Town employees will receive priority registration for Summer Basecamp 2026.
Registration Details:
Registration will open for everyone promptly at 6:00 AM on March 14th at the Waynesville Recreation Center(550 Vance Street). To ensure a smooth and organized process, the following procedures will be in place:
Required Documentation for Residents:
- A current utility bill through the Town of Waynesville, and a valid photo ID
- Town Employees must provide ID so staff can verify employment through the Rec Track system.
Addresses will be verified using Haywood County GIS to confirm residency status and our Rec Track system at the Waynesville Recreation Center. We encourage new and reoccurring families to update or add a free household account with us at the Waynesville Rec Center front desk to make this process faster upon signup day.
Line Structure - Front doors open at 6:00 AM:
At the start of registration, two separate lines will be formed at the front of the Waynesville Recreation Center:
- Line 1 – Residents (Town of Waynesville Residents & Town Employees)
- Line 2 – Non-Residents
Residents will receive an expedited registration process.
- Residents and Town Employees: Two registration stations will be dedicated to Line 1, allowing up to 10 total registrations at a time (5 per register).
- Non-Residents: One registration station will serve Line 2, allowing up to 5 registrations at a time.
Summer Basecamp 2026 Program Details:
Summer Basecamp runs for 8 weeks starting June 8th, with 105 total spots available per week.
Weekly Group Breakdown (Per Week)
• The Sprouts (Pre-K–Kindergarten) – 25 spots
• The Blossoms (1st–2nd Grade) – 25 spots
• The Pines (3rd–4th Grade) – 30 spots
• The Oaks (5th Grade & Up) – 25 spots
Age groups are determined by the grade your child is entering in Fall 2026.
Summer Basecamp 2026 Rates:
Weekly Rates (3 Days or More Per Week)
Residents and Town Employees:
• $175 – First Child
• $90 – Each Additional Child (no limit)
Non-Residents:
• $190 – First Child
• $100 – Each Additional Child (no limit)
Daily Rate Option
• $60 per child, per day
• Maximum of 2 days per week
Important Reminder
We strongly encourage all families and interested participants—both residents and non-residents—to arrive at 6:00 AM with the proper documentation to secure their child’s spot in Summer Basecamp 2026. Spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly.
The quickest way to get signed up is to have all of your required summer basecamp paperwork filled out, residency verification ready (GIS, Rec Track, and/or Utility bill), and pay with either check or credit card.
