Notice of Five (5) Public Hearings 

Waynesville Planning Board

The Town of Waynesville Planning Board will hold five (5) public hearings on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Board Room, located at 9 South Main Street, Waynesville, NC, to consider:

1. Major Site Plan for Haywood Community College. The proposed project consists of a building expansion, courtyard addition, parking lot rework, stormwater infrastructure, sewer line extension and other appurtenances to serve a new building located at 144 Industrial Park Drive, Waynesville, NC 28786 (PINs 8616-96-6627, 8616-96-8970, and 8626-06-1969).

2. Special Use Permit modification request for the expansion of one storage building located at 187 W. Marshall St., Waynesville, NC 28786 (PIN 8616-40-9101). 

3. Text amendment to reduce the maximum base density by two (2) units in residential districts (Low Density, Medium Density, Neighborhood Residential, and Urban Residential), Land Development Standards 2.4.1.

4. Text amendment to reduce the maximum building height in low density districts to 45 feet, Land Development Standards 2.4.1.

5. Text amendment to update the symbology of the Table of Uses. This would include no regulatory changes. Land Development Standards 2.5.3.
