Festivals, special events and performances are held frequently in downtown Waynesville, sponsored by the Downtown Waynesville Association (DWA) and other area organizations. All take place on Main Street unless otherwise stated. For more information, call 828-456-3517.

MAY 2018

May 4- Fri - "ART after DARK"
Participating galleries & studios remain open until 9 pm on this evening with special artist’s showings, displays, and refreshments and music. Look for the WGA group flag representing the Waynesville Gallery Association.

May 5 - Sat - 86th Annual RAMP FESTIVAL  held at the American Legion  - celebration of the wild growing ramps in Haywood County - for more information contact the American Legion at 828-456-8691

May 12 - Sat - Whole Bloomin' Thing Festival - held in Frog Level.  Annual plate sale and craft venue.

May 19 - Sat - QUICK DRAW  Artists competition/auction for more information visit wncquickdraw.com

May 26- Sat - BLOCK PARTY   Dancing in Main Street, 3 live bands, 7pm; “Kids on Main” activity hour, 6-7pm, eats & treats, restaurants open.

JUNE 2018

June 29 – Fri - MOUNTAIN STREET DANCE   An old-fashioned mountain hoe down! Live mountain music & clogging, instructions & demonstrations, concessions, Historic Courthouse.  6:30-9pm.

 

JULY 2018

July 4 - Wed - STARS & STRIPES CELEBRATION   Shops & Restaurants open all day, live music & entertainment, 11-3. Patriotic Kid’s Parade on Main Street 11am; Haywood Community Band Patriotic Concert on Courthouse lawn, 2 pm.

July 6- Fri - "ART after DARK"

July 13 – Fri - MOUNTAIN STREET DANCE  An old-fashioned mountain hoe down! Live mountain music & clogging, instructions & demonstrations, concessions, Historic Courthouse.  6:30-9pm.

July 19-29  FOLKMOOT USA INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL  NC’s Official International Festival celebrating the world’s cultural heritage through folk music and dance. Countries from around the world attend and showcase performances are held in Waynesville and regional venues.  www.folkmootusa.org

July 21-Sat - FOLKMOOT USA PARADE of NATIONS  International dancers & musicians parade down Main Street to Opening Ceremonies on Historic Courthouse lawn TIME TBA

July 27 – Fri - MOUNTAIN STREET DANCE  An old-fashioned mountain hoe down! Live mountain music & clogging, instructions & demonstrations, concessions, Historic Courthouse.  6:30-9pm.

July 28- Sat – 37th Annual INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL DAY, a Folkmoot USA celebration featuring, art, dance, music, food 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.  downtown

 

AUGUST 2018

Oct 5 - Fri - "ART after DARK"
Participating galleries & studios remain open until 9 pm on this evening with special artist’s showings, displays, and refreshments. Look for the WGA group flag representing the Waynesville Gallery Association.

Oct 13 - Sat – The 35th annual CHURCH STREET ART & CRAFT SHOW on Main St!  Known as one of the finest one-day juried art shows in the region. An art & craft marketplace with great food & drink, two stages of live mountain music, clogging teams, entertainment & more, 10am-5pm.

Oct 20 - Sat – The 30th annual APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL Music, craft booths, apples, 10am-5pm.

Oct 31 - Wed - TREATS ON THE STREET - A safe way for children to trick-or-treat on Main Street from 5 pm to 7 pm

 

NOVEMBER 2018

Nov 2 - Fri - "ART after DARK"

Nov 30- Fri - TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY  - Oak Park Inn - tree lighting and activities for children.  Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

 

DECEMBER 2018

Dec 1-31 - “ALL THROUGH THE TOWN” Holiday happenings all month in downtown businesses.   

Dec 3 - Mon -Waynesville CHRISTMAS PARADE   Main Street 6pm

Dec 8 - Sat - “A NIGHT before CHRISTMAS"   A Holiday Tradition in Downtown Waynesville. Live music, caroling, Bethlehem Market Place, Live Nativity, old-fashioned wagon rides, Santa, luminaries line the street.  Shops, galleries & restaurants remain open. Join us for an evening of family fun. 6-9pm. 

Dec 13-24 - TWELVE DAYS of CHRISTMAS Magical Moments & Memories Made Here
